Kauaʻi Island Utility Cooperative
Kauaʻi Island Utility Cooperative was formed in November of 2002 and is one of America’s newest electric cooperatives; one of approximately 900 electric cooperatives serving electric consumers in 48 states. KIUC operates as a not-for-profit organization that is owned by its members and governed by an elected board of directors. It is the only electric cooperative in the State of Hawaiʻi.
Payment Assistance
Hawai'i Home Energy Assistance Program (H-HEAP) is a federal program that provides qualifying low-income households with a one-time credit paid directly to KIUC to assist with energy costs. Applicants may apply, once per program year, for one of two types of credit: Energy Credit (EC) or Emergency Crises Intervention (ECI).
