Get Charged!  Electricity and You is a new educational outreach program sponsored by KIUC in partnership with Touchstone Energy Cooperatives and Discovery Channel School, provider of educational materials to schools nationwide.

KIUC will meet with interested Kauai schools to introduce the Get Charged! program to 7^th graders. Get Charged! provides basic information about electricity, how it works and how to use it.  It gives the user a real-world understanding of the power and purpose of electricity, as well as the importance of electric cooperatives in delivering electricity, which is integral to everyday life.

The program will provide a variety of educational tools including videos, CD-ROMs, a Teachers Resource Guide, student activity books and other collateral materials at no charge.
