2010 Annual Report

"KIUC’s program to generate at least 50 percent of its energy from renewable resources biomass, hydroelectric and solar/PV – by 2023 or sooner is driven by our members’ demand to manage the cost of energy to members, reduce dependence on imported oil and increase the amount of energy generated from Kauai’s own resources."

President & CEO

2009 Annual Report

"Our relationship with our members sets the context for our successful operations and we treasure our legacy of engagement with our community. KIUC believes our mutual concerns will help to build a better future. To that end we will continue toward a mix of generation resources to meet demand, finding the best ways to balance environmental concerns while ensuring delivery of affordable and reliable power."

President & CEO

2008 Annual Report

“The record high energy costs we were all exposed to in 2008 reinforces KIUC’s strategic goal to move to sustainable energy solutions. The economic downturn hasn’t made getting there any easier, but it has reinforced the need for our cooperative to remain a strong and viable entity on our island while we attain that goal. KIUC continues to focus on leading our island to energy solutions that will result in reliable, sustainable energy at fair and competitive rates. I am confident that with the help and support of our members, we will attain our goals."

2007 Annual Report

“Challenged by global energy supply and climate change issues, our Board and staff formulated a 15-year Strategic Plan. The Strategic Plan focuses on Reliability, Sustainable Energy Supplies and Fair and Competitive Rates. We invite our members’ involvement as we develop and implement this three-point Strategic Plan. The balance of these three points determines how well we serve our members and customers on Kaua‘i. We live in a time when we can change our energy future and how we affect our environment. I am confident that KIUC will meet that challenge and am appreciative of your support.
