Patronage capital, also known as capital credits, comes from the money a cooperative has left over after paying all of its expenses in a given year. At the end of the year, that money is credited to each member's patronage capital account according to the amount paid for energy used.

KIUC is looking for members of KIUC as of October 2002. To determine if you are eligible for a patronage capital refund, refer to the list of members (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009) who have unclaimed patronage capital funds by downloading the names at the bottom of this page

You Must Apply for Your Refund!

If your name appears on the list, you must apply for your refund. Please complete a Request for Patronage Capital Refund form, and provide a picture ID as proof that the person requesting the refund is the same person as the person named in our assignment. There are many ways to apply for your Patronage Capital refund:

• Download the application, and mail your completed application to us with a copy of your picture ID.
• Email info@kiuc.coop and request that an application be mailed to you.
• Call us at 808.246.4300 and request that we mail you an application.

Refund checks will be issued and mailed to you after your information has been researched and verified. Please allow 45 business days to process your request. For additional information about patronage capital, call us at 808.246.4300.
