Your current charges are itemized based on the type of rate schedule applicable to your account. For residential electric service the following charges may be itemized on your bill<\/p>\n\n

Non-Fuel Energy Charge<\/strong> \u2013 This charge is based on the number of kilowatt hours charged excluding fuel costs. This includes the cost to operate our power plants and maintain the electric system.<\/p>\n\n

Fuel and Purchased Power Energy<\/strong> \u2013 There two components to the Fuel and Purchased Power Energy Charge; the Base Fuel Charge and the Energy Rate Adjustment. These charges are to recover fuel and purchased energy expenses incurred from independent power producers and in the price of fuel used in our power plants. The Energy Rate Adjustment can increase or decrease monthly based on the price of the energy purchased.<\/p>\n\n

Resource Cost Charge<\/strong> \u2013 Charge to recover costs associated with Integrated Resource Planning (IRP) and other energy management programs.<\/p>\n\n
